Hands On Archaeology brings heritage to the public through interactive exhibits hosted by local heritage professionals

We'll bring our collections and our experiences to your training sessions, conferences, meetings, community events, and schools. We use local knowledge and material culture from active archaeological fieldwork and museum collections to stimulate discussion about the human past and the business end of archaeology.

We also conduct engaging social science orientation and resource-building seminars with teachers and managers.

It's all done through a hands-on approach to history that aims to make BC's heritage more accessible to everyone.

Fees apply. Contact Joanne to discuss specific engagement ideas and goals.

I volunteer with Scientists and Innovators in the Schools (SIS), a program that helps address British Columbia's need for more scientists, engineers, technologists and technicians by inspiring students with in-school presentations. I visit schools in Kamloops, Merritt, Ashcroft, Salmon Arm and surrounding areas and talk shop with kids. The program is offered to Grades K–12 everywhere in BC.

There is no fee for short classroom visits when you request me or another scientist for your class from Science World's SIS program.
